I haven't ate here in a hot minute and it was as good as I remembered. It's a pretty small shop and there aren't much workers. I ordered the salted fish chicken fried rice and the spare ribs. The fried rice was honestly one of the best I've had in the sgv. I was pleasantly surprised since I'm not usually a fan of the fried rice. I spare rib was good as well but it took over 30 minutes to come out. The workers were very apologetic for the wait time which I appreciated. Overall, it's a very nostalgic place and the price is decent as well. Large portions.

I haven't been back here since Covid except to buy a roast duck to go. One of the best local ducks with original flavors around. It's been long overdue for dining back here and unsure why we haven't sooner. We used to come get their lunch specials alot. Buy 5 items get a 6th item free!! Restaurant and food items have gone up drastically since Covid and we were surprised to find the specials still the same along with their prices!! Portions may be a tad smaller and some items may not be the best compared to other places but for the prices and deals, it makes up the difference if you're eating on a budget while getting a descent quick fix of varieties! We got stir fry green beans which was good and generic. We also got steamed pork patty with salted fish which was just ok though. The fish was not the salted kind/brand. The steam egg with minced pork was also ok. Interesting it was a bit custard like which makes me suggest they mixed flour into it to make it that way. Didn't care for it to be creamy like. I prefer the traditional watery jello texture like steamed eggs. The chicken feet was the free item and it's a twist off from dim sum flavors. They used bbq pork sweetening and red colors and flavors were a mix of that and dim sum way. It wasn't bad though. They offer free soup that comes with your meals along with generic hot tea and white rice. All this for about $45! We had alot left to wrap home! Place was clean and the employees were very nice. Definitely coming back more often like we used to pre-covid. Parking is very small and may need to find street parking though.

Food was delicious and the price is pretty decent. If you buy 4 dishes, you get one additional dish free. It also comes with free soup and rice that you can refill constantly. Hubby and I ordered the steamed tilapia, a roasted duck, one mustard vegetable dish , another vegetable order and they provided salted chicken for free. Service is typical of any Chinese restaurant. Don't expect super friendly or stellar service. Just go for the food. Parking can be difficult so best option is to come earlier as there are not much parking spaces available. Would come again because of the decent price and portion of the food!

Overall, I would rate this a place a 4/5 with service included in the rating. The food here is a solid 3/5. The bbq was a bit too salty for my liking and would still prefer Sam Woo's. The restaurant serves your typical Cantonese cuisine. If you spend over $60, you have the option of receiving a free plate of goose, steamed white chicken or duck. The service was great! The aunties there were kind, attentive and mentioned the deals that they had. She also provided several suggestions! They gave us free red bean dessert at the end of the meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is a bit more intimate, and the restaurant is a bit small similar to those in Hong Kong. I wouldn't come here for bbq specifically, but would come back for their other dishes!

My family and I had great dinner here. We usually order some BBQ to go in the past so we don't know what to expect when we dine in. Service and food was above our expectations. When we ordered the fried rice, the waitress told us it would probably fill one person, but the portion was very big and more than enough for four since we also ordered soup (seafood and tofu soup was so delicious!) and a vegetable dish, which were also huge portions. Since we spent a lot, they gave us some free steamed chicken. After we finished our dinner and paid, they gave us each a free bowl of sweet soup. Very great dinner, but only one downside...just wish their bowls are a little bit bigger to put the rice in.
